We are a company that provides lodging and food service in southern “Manabí” Coast , we opened on November 9th., 2013 with the goal of being the best hotel of the Ecuadorian coast, we have a team of professionals in hospitality and tourism with extensive experience and trajectory that will make your stay more than extraordinary. It’s called ” Sanctuary” because it means a place for rest and disconnect from everyday life, also for being the shrine of humpback whales.

The Lodge is located at the north of Puerto Cayo, in Boca cayo; a rural area, the property is at the feet of the Pacific Ocean , was designed by an Ecuadorian architect focused on use of natural light , the landscapes of the Machalilla National Park and Silver Island without losing sight of the native details such as bamboo, banana fiber, dried palm leaves, the different areas are decorated with works of abstract art pyrographied over wood.

We have 14 comfortable rooms, divided into three categories; Junior Suites, Deluxe and Standard, All of our rooms are designed with a touch of rustic beauty but thoroughly modern style and amenities. Rooms have either a wide ocean view or a garden view.

Restaurant
All meals are a slow food culinary delight, we specialize in local and international cuisine, using farm to table fresh ingredients from the local organic crops of the “Cantagallo” and “Colon” communities.
Lodge
One of the primary reasons this is such a special location is the magnificent scenery.
To the west, we have beautiful golden sand beaches in front of the endless Pacific Ocean. To the north and south, the horizons are rimmed with hills and mountains down to the sea.

Surf at the foots of our Lodge, Puerto Cayo has one of the best spots for these activity, lesson for all ages starting 7 years old. USD $20 per person.
Tour to Machalilla National Park
Machalilla National Park, is one of the largest protected areas of the coast of Ecuador and comprises two zones: a land area (56,184 ha) and marine area (14,430 nm).
We can help you to coordinate the tour, there are various excursions such as Agua Blanca community, which includes sulfur mud lagoon; “Los Frailes Beach”, “La Plata” Island and “Pedernales” Islet.

Visit a local farm
Visit a local farm at Cantagallo rural comunity, located at 5 minutes from the lodge, a farmer will guide your tour thru plantations and a secondary forest to find the monkeys, snacks included. English non spoken, you can hire a interpreter with advance. USD $25 per person. minimum. 4 people.
