Puerto Cayo also known in ancient times as “Tusco” was the starting point in the commercial exchange of the shell Spondylus that was extracted in the zone and the vestiges of the commercial exchange can be evidenced in the museums of “ Salango” and “ Agua Blanca” (jade, Lazuli stone, among others).

It is currently one of the most beautiful and exclusive beaches in Ecuador, with a total extension of 12 kilometers of white sand and dunes with a limit in Cape San Jose, its geographic location makes it possesses a pleasant climate all year round, ideal waves for Surfing, water skiing, kite surfing, paramotor, artisanal or sport fishing, and towards the east is the Alto hill, which is mentioned in the maps of the British pirates and near this waterfalls, trails, forests with Humid and dry microclimates, mountains, a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna, plus a beautiful landscape worthy of photography, not to mention being one of the most privileged places for whale watching from June to September.

In the foothills of this hill is the community of Cantagallo, an area rich in produce of fruits and vegetables and that supplies our Lodge.

How to get there by taxi?

It’s private, non-shareable.

How to get there by bus?
  • From the city of Guayaquil, the bus company “ Reina del Camino or CTM or Coactur” to the city of JIpijapa and from their bus station you can take a taxi to the Lodge Approximately USD $ 12 – USD $ 15 or also take bus from JIpijapa (bus station) to the gas station of Puerto Cayo ( “Gasolinera de Puerto Cayo” in Spanish) and from there a taxi to the lodge.
  • From the city of Quito, take the bus “Cooperativa Reina del Camino”, which goes to Puerto Lopez, in this case, to let know the driver to leave you at the gas station of Puerto Cayo and take a taxi to the hotel.

It is important that you mention us, what bus you will take in order to be pending of your arrival, sometimes you could arrive early morning like 4am or 5am, while our check-in it’s a mid-day.
